Although I a CDL holder, I was driving a bus before I got diagnosed with cancer. After the treatment, I used marijuana to ease the pain. After I was diagnosed cancer-free, I tried applying for a job (pre-tested myself and the test was clean), but they did hair tests and it returned positive. Needless to say I didn’t get the job.
Can this affect my trucking career as well? Any help is appreciated.
Hi @haulinmalwyn, and welcome to the forum. To answer this question, we need a bit more info – were you applying for a job in trucking? Hair tests are usually tests done outside of DOT-regulation, but they can still appear on your DAC report.
Whatever may be the case, you can check your DAC for free, the info is included in this blog post: DAC Report: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
