  • CPM pay makes up approximately 70% of pay
  • CPM: Starting at 0.51 – increasing 1 cent per year (Full years of JBH tenure are honored) – cap out at 0.56 CPM
  • Paid RandMcnally Miles
  • Stop/Exception pay makes up approximately 30% of pay
  • Live stops: $65
  • Drop/Hook stops: $35
  • $15/hr rail delay pay (delay pay does not start until 1 hour has passed)
  • $15/hr breakdown pay (from time of breakdown until repair)
  • $15/stop empty search pay (after the first assigned location)
  • $25 hazmat load (per occurrence)
  • Average Annual Gross Pay: $78,000
  • Top 10% of fleet average above $90,000
  • Average Weekly Gross Pay: $1,500    
  • Top 10% of fleet average above $1,750
  • $10,000 limited time sign-on bonus!
  • New drivers Average Weekly Gross Pay: $1,300 – $1,400 for first 2 – 3 months depending on their development and ability

Other Pay:

  • Training Pay: $150/day (two weeks)
  • Full Activity pay program –Covering detention, breakdown, rail delay, training/meetings and much more!
  • Holiday Pay: Eligible after one consecutive year of service. $190/holiday for the 6 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day & 4th of July).
  • Drivers must be active (not on leave, suspension, terminated)
  • Drivers are not required to work Holidays. Days surrounding holidays are first come first serve.
  •  PTO Pay: PTO accrual starts on the first day of employment. Initially, you earn 1.5 hours/week (7 days off per calendar year).
  • Time off is accrued in real time, you don’t have to wait for your anniversary to take time off
  • New/rehire – 1.5 hours accrued/week = 7 PTO days/year
  • 1+ years – 1.54 hours accrued/week = 10 PTO days/year
  • 6+ years – 2.31 hours accrued/week = 15 PTO days/year
  • 19+ years – 3.08 hours accrued/week = 20 PTO days/year

Home Time/Schedule:

  • Required Schedules: Drivers may select any two consecutive days off except Saturday and Sunday for their 48-hour home time each week. 
  • Monday – Friday schedules are only available via a waiting list.
  • See Weekend Wrap Position for drivers able to work Thur-Mon or Fri-Tues – 7K Annual increase
  • Start time: Drivers can select their start time as long as it remains consistent from week to week.
  • We do not guarantee frequency of getting home for 10 hour breaks through the work week. We only guarantee getting home for days off.
  • However, if you are low on hours near your home, you are welcome to stop there for your 10 hour break.  
  • Freight volume and flexibility allows for drivers interested to work additional days

Position/Freight details:

  • Uniforms and Hazmat Certification is required within 90 days of hire
  • Hazmat Certification can be reimbursed upon proof/receipts
  • Production requirement: 1900 miles/week
  • Exceptional drivers can run as much as 2,800 miles per week with 48 hours off
  • Training: New hires will train for two weeks. Additional training may be added when required
  • New hires will earn $150/day while training
  • Approximately 75% drop/hook and 25% live load/unload
  • 100% of freight is on Intermodal Chassis/Container
  • 5% of freight is Reefer/TCI freight
  • Must live within 100 miles of 55101, Saint Paul, Minnesota
  • 3 months experience required

Operating Area Specifics:

  • Iowa (45%), Minnesota (25%), Wisconsin (25%), and Southern Illinois (5%)
  • Rails: Mainly Chicago area rails (85%). Occasionally St. Paul (14%) and St. Louis Rails (1%)

Truck specifications/Parking:

  • Truck Type: Drivers will operate mid roof conventional tractors. Average age of the fleet is 2.5 years
  • Most Tractors are Automatic Transmission Freightliners.
  • Truck Speed: Max speed of trucks is 62 MPH with peddle and 65 MPH on cruise.
  • Truck Assignment: New hires will be assigned a tractor their final week of training
  • Parking: Drivers living within 30 miles of a terminal will need to park the truck at the terminal for their home time. Outside of that drivers can park at/near home but need a safe/legal place to park the tractor/trailer.
