SUMTER, SC – The South Carolina Police Department is on the lookout for the day-cab trucker who killed a young woman in a fatal hit and run incident.
The deceased woman has been identified as 23-year-old Rebecca Brown.

At the moment of the incident, Brown was struck and killed on South Guignard Drive at around 9:20 p.m. in Sumter, South Carolina. The circumstances which lead to the incident remain unclear.
Sumter Police have identified the make of the day-cab and have released footage of a similar model to help identify the truck driver who allegedly killed the woman. The model of the truck was a Freightliner Cascadia day cab pulling a white trailer.
According to the report, the cab is expected the cab to have damage to the front-right headlight area.
Brown was reported missing a week before her body was found dead in a ditch at the place of the accident. Coroner report says that Brown died from blunt force trauma that was a result of being struck by the day cab.
