Trucker Dies in Fiery I-75 Crash near Wildwood

WILDWOOD, FL – A truck driver died in a fiery crash on I-75 near Wildwood this Monday morning.

A 31-year-old truck driver from Spring Hill was traveling soundbound on I-75 when at around 7:25 a.m., he failed to slow down for traffic near Exit 321. As a consequence, he rear-ended another tractor-trailer that was driven by a Dade City man. The second truck did slow for the traffic jam ahead.

The second truck was driven by a 69-year-old man, said the official report.

Both trucks rolled over in the median and blocked sections of the highway. The first truck caught fire and the 31-year-old trucker died in the crash.

The 69-year-old trucker survived.
