Trucker Who Shifted Bridge 6 Feet Had an Expired CDL

TREUFLEN COUNTY, GA – The truck driver who struck a bridge so hard it moved 6 ft has been officially cited by authorities.

The 40-year-old Cecil Reeves was the man behind the truck that struck the bridge last week. Reeves has since received a citation related to the expiration and renewal of driving licenses law in Georgia. He has been confirmed to be driving with an expired license at the time of the crash.

As a reminder, Reeves shifted a Treutlen County bridge six feet by hitting it with a dump truck. The accident happened after the hopper lift trailer of the truck went into lift position and hit the overpass that crosses I-16.

The shifted bridge has been completely torn down since the accident happened. Authorities say that there are plans to rebuild and replace the damaged bridge.
